Ever wondered how robots work? Or how we construct buildings? Do you like computers? Are you interested in creating and building? Little STEMs is for you! 

This girls only program introduces students (grades 1 – 8) to a variety of STEM activities designed to ignite their imagination, allow them to use STEM skills practiced in schools, and engage with positive female role models.

Thanks to the generosity of the Actua Network and their national funders, there are no fees associated with the Little STEMs programs.

The schedules may differ based event to event – a detailed schedule will be sent out participants closer to the event. Typically, registration will begin 30 minutes prior to the event start time. Parents and guardians are asked to bring government issued ID to the drop off location.

Morning activities take place before a short break (snacks included), activities resume and then students have lunch (provided). Activities continue for the afternoon before we meeting parents at the pick up location.

It is expected that participants come dressed appropriately for both the weather and a variety of activities – students should wear comfortable footwear.

Connections Engineering Outreach will provided participants with snacks and lunch. However, it is encouraged that participants pack a reusable water bottle.

If there are other specific materials/items required for the event Connections Engineering Outreach will ensure that this information is provided to parents/guardians in advance.

Little STEMS events will include snacks and lunches.

Queen’s University is NOT a nut-free environment. Connections Engineering Outreach works closely with all guests to campus who self-identify their allergies and food restrictions to make appropriate accommodations. Therefore, it is important to provide Connections with all necessary dietary and medical information when registering and update us on any changes to your medical history so that we can ensure you have a safe and enjoyable dining experience while you are on campus.
