Tech’N’Tinker

Connections Engineering Outreach at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science is proud to introduce The Tech ‘n’ Tinker (TNT) Trailer. The TNT trailer is a mobile makerspace designed to travel to schools, community organizations and public events in the greater Kingston area. Boasting a full range of educational technologies, the TNT trailer provides hands-on experiential learning opportunities that complement the Ontario school curriculum.

Currently, we are offering a back-to-back, two-day booking for both our Tech ‘n’ Tinker Trailer (TNT) and robotics workshops. During each of these days, schools will receive 250 minutes of instructional time with the robotics and in the TNT Trailer; 500 minutes of instruction total. We will be sending 2 qualified teachers to run these programs; one staff member will run robotics programming for the day, while the other runs programming in the TNT trailer.  The cost of this program is $350/day – actual operating cost of the program is $650/day.

 Teacher Feedback:

“I want to thank you for the great sessions today. They were absolutely fantastic! Not only did they relate well to the curriculum in Science and Math, they were engaging. I had many kids ask me how they can keep coding and if we can experiment with circuits at school. You hooked them and this doesn’t always happen with workshops! You’ve put together an amazing program – one to be proud of. We look forward to our continued partnership.”
