Connections has partnered with several groups in our community to offer barrier free programming at organizations including the Kingston Frontenac Public Libraries, Boys and Girls Club of Kingston, Science Rendezvous Kingston, and more! If you are part of a community group in Kingston that would be interested in working with Connections, please reach out to our team.

Kingston Frontenac Public Library

Connections has partnered with KFPL to offer a series of Robotics Workshop, hosted by Connections staff at library locations. Participants will learn how to code with a variety of different types of robots and work through engineering design challenges.

Also available at KFPL branches, Connections has provided Robotics Lending Kits to practice your coding skills at home with Lego EV3 Robots. Visit our KFPL Partnership page for more information on these programs and information on how to get involved!

Science Rendezvous

Come and visit Connections booth at the annual free science festival, hosted by Queen's University at the Slush Puppie Place! This exciting event welcomes more than 5,000 visitors to come and explore with community STEM experts. Connections' booth provides an opportunity to explore with robots - try your hand at coding a Dash robot to drive through an obstacle course!

For more information on this event, check out the Science Rendezvous website!

Boys and Girls Club

Connections works with the Boys and Girls Club to provide robotics and STEM workshops to participants at BGC sites in Kingston. In 2024, as part of a grant received from the Canadian Space Agency, Connections hosted a series of workshops at the Boys and Girls Club where students developed a stratospheric satellite that reached an estimated 25km in elevation and captured photos on its journey!

KMFRC Partnership

Connections works with the Kingston Military Family Resource Center to provide engineering and robotics workshops to the YOUth Matter group. These events are for youth ages 12 to 18 from military families to engage in activities and workshops on a variety of topics. Connections sessions with KMFRC focus on providing hands-on robotics challenges that build confidence and problem solving skills and allow participants to collaborate with their peers.
