Program Details

 

This program presents students currently in grade 9, 10, and 11 with an overview of engineering using lab facilities and thought-provoking projects to inform and engage students without being technically overwhelming. Participants will get a taste of Queen's Engineering through team-based design projects involving collaboration, leadership, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.  

 

2024 Courses

Technology continues to improve and become increasingly more important in our world. In this course, participants will explore the impact of engineering and technology on our world and how they can be used in tandem to improve productivity, safety, and accessibility. Participants will have the opportunity to design and create their own autonomous vehicles and explore Queen's research and robotics facilities.

Engineering Disciplines Explored: Mechatronics and Robotics, Electrical and Computer, Mechanical

Session Dates: July 8th - 12th, 2024 or July 29th - August 2nd, 2024

Engineering is a vast field of study with so many opportunities to improve the world we live in. Throughout this course, participants will have the opportunity to learn about and interact with several different disciplines of engineering. Participants will apply their problem solving and critical thinking skills to hands-on workshops and have the opportunity to visit on campus laboratories and interact with Queens students and faculty.

Engineering Disciplines Explored: Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical and Computer, Mining and Geological

Session Dates: July 22nd - July 26th (no residence option available) or August 12th - 16th, 2024

Engineering designs are improving the lives and health of people each day and will continue to aid in medical and accessibility practices. In this course, participants will explore the role of engineering in healthcare and accessible design. Participants will have the opportunity to implement the Engineering Design Process to design and create unique solutions to real world health and accessibility challenges.
