Connections is working with the Kingston Frontenac Public Library to provide both in person and take home experiences for friends of the library. See how you can get involved with these programs below!

Robotics Club

Connections will be hosting 6 weeks of Robotics Club at the Central Branch for ages 9 to 12 starting  January 14, 2025.  Join us for an exciting opportunity to practice your coding and engineering skills! Each week, you'll explore new and engaging engineering challenges, and get hands-on experience programming robots like Dash, Lego Spike, and more. Visit the KFPL registration page to sign up today!

Each week participants will be given a new challenge to complete with the robots, fostering their problem solving and collaboration skills to develop solutions to real world problems. Using block coding , which offers a user friendly interface, participants ages 9 to 12 with any level of coding experience are encouraged to join this free workshop series.

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Library Kits

Lego EV3 Robots combine the Lego building system and block coding to provide a hands-on experience for students age 10 and older to explore their STEM skills. Starting January 13th, 2025 visit one of the KFPL branches to sign out an EV3 Robotics Kit, complete with all of the components you need to build and code your robot through a series of challenges!

Each kit has been donated by Connections and includes instructions to get started with programming and building your EV3 robot. Please note, use of the Lego EV3 kits requires access to a device (computer, tablet, or phone) to create code for your robot to follow.

Questions about these kits can be directed to the Connections team at eng.connections@queensu.ca
